Dev Log: Scrum and Team Management
After rigorous panning the team has finally achieved a feasible workload with tasks and estimated schedule. Reasons why this took so long were differences in direction amongst the admin team but we were able to differentiate between the product development and the engineering route of planning a project. From that disagreement here are some things I learned:
- Invest time into planning and creating a unified and clear objective
- Establish leadership techniques when managing a team with multiple leaders
- To avoid time wasted work in parallel on both functionality and UI
- Ease information access for the team whether it’s meeting minutes, database diagrams or wireframes to save time and effort
- Allocate time to work on critical tasks pertaining to infrastructure
Continuing on where we left off previously, I went ahead and created a Feasibility Analysis and Competitive Analysis on our MOVOW project and its objective:
Computer/mobile application that allows users to log into a secure account and keep track of movies/shows seen, with the ability to collaborate on lists and view friends’ current viewing status across streaming platforms. While an optimal app is one that encapsulates search and content on one platform, our focus is to direct viewers to where they can view content (including region variance) via links to official streaming platforms contain it.
- Competitive Analysis
In-depth analysis of other movie guides that people use to store lists or find more information about movies. These competitors include: Reelgood, Letterboxd, The Movie Database, FlickFocus, TrakT

Schedule
Above is an estimated list of features and timelines for which we plan to complete our prototyping phase before we start implementing live tracking for TV Shows and Movies.
Things are moving swiftly and we are planning to acquire some brand status starting with a logo to replace what we have below, until next time.
